![]() Stamped “R” on butt, indicating it was an arsenal reconditioned rifle. Original stock is numbered to the gun and in quite good condition for a Spanish Mauser, with just scattered dents and minor scratches. Rifle appears to have been depot refinished at least once, but the original crest is intact and legibly reads “BERLIN 1896” with the Loewe Crest! The Loewe maker’s mark and Star of David are crisp, assuring it’s antique status. Cleaning rod is un-numbered, so it may not be original. So the bolt serial number may have been force-matched. Serialized parts are all matching, except for the bolt sleeve and safety. ![]() (Not sporterized.) Bore is worn, dark, and dirty. Still in original military configuration, with 28″ barrel.
